Twelve Point Bold: Professional Writing and Editing

Background

I founded Twelve Point Bold in January 2010. Prior to that, I was a professional writer and editor in New York City for ten years. I have an undergraduate degree in American government from Harvard University and a master's degree in journalism from New York University.

While I have experience working on a wide range of editorial projects, I currently focus on writing sophisticated legal marketing materials and editing academic manuscripts for faculty in the social sciences. Whether working in academia, legal affairs, or journalism, my approach to writing is always the same: make it clean, make it clear, make it in on time.

After college, I worked in the non-profit sector as an analyst and grant writer, drafting research reports, marketing materials, correspondence, and fundraising appeals. I entered a two-year graduate program in magazine journalism at New York University in 2003 and focused on urban affairs, law, and politics. I reported for Newsday, The New York Observer, and City Limits magazine and later became a political correspondent for the Long Island Press. My most recent position before launching Twelve Point Bold was as staff reporter for the nationally recognized legal magazine, The American Lawyer.

I currently live in Philadelphia with my husband and two children.
